One of my least favorite parts of gardening is hardening off my plants. When those seedlings are looking so good, I just want to rush them right out. Tick tock plant babies ⏰
One week ago it was warm enough to get the cushions out and sit outside. Now it’s snowing. As my German friends would say: April macht was er will.
Spring garden chores have kicked into high gear. We are trying our hand at rain barrels this year. Hoping to give some extra watering options during the dry summer months.
I planted fava beans as a cover crop this winter. It’s time to chop them down but they’re starting to flower and look so pretty.
I’m taking my first tap class ever. Learning something just for the fun of it brings me so much joy. There is no pressure to be perfect and no one to impress. 10/10 would recommend trying something you thought you were too old for.
I’ve been teaching a beginning gardening class through Master Gardeners and find myself repeating that you don’t need to spend lots of money to grow veg. So matching my words with actions, I present my seed starting setup. Reusing flats and trays with lights under a folding table and chairs.
